ISIS conducted its third publicized beheading recently when British aid worker David Haines was killed.  According to CNN, ISIS called this beheading, “a message to the allies of America.”  The video had many parallels to the videos that were made featuring the beheadings of Steven Sotloff and James Foley.

According to CNN, in the video, the executioner, spoke to directly to British Prime Minister David Cameron. He said, “Your evil alliance with America, which continues to strike the Muslims of Iraq and most recently bombed the Haditha dam, will only accelerate your destruction and claim the role of the obedient lap dog.  Cameron will only drag you and your people into another bloody and unwinnable war.”

ISIS has also threatened to behead yet another individual, Alan Henning.  Realizing the gravity of this situation, British Prime Minister and United States president Barack Obama have spoken out against ISIS.

About the recent death, literature and debate teacher Mr. Ward Abel said, “The third beheading is a tragedy for the Haines family.  It is also a tragedy for all of Western civilization.”
