Beloved television host, comedian and actress, Joan Rivers, died on September 4, 2014 at the age of 81. During the middle of vocal cord surgery, Rivers stopped breathing and was rushed to the hospital; however, she was unable to recover from the event.

She was able to bring love and laughter to her peers and fans even some at McIntosh High School. Freshman Abby Knox said,  “Joan Rivers was always a role model of mine, and she was always entertaining to watch.”
