The Russian Federation is trying to take over Crimea, which is located in the Ukraine. Military bases along with parts of this region have been invaded.
Tensions are rising in the area as Russia now controls the region. The United States has put restrictions on all visas of Russians along with sending fighter planes, a naval destroyer and one billion dollars in aid.
The European Union has also given 15 billion in aid for the Ukraine to use in helping them stay their own country. When talking to freshman Joseph Pollard, he said, “I’m strongly against Russia invading any part of the Ukraine. It is not just and shouldn’t be done.” This is true from a lot of people’s perspectives currently around the world, and the United States has motioned that sanctions may be on the way for the country.
