Q: What was your contribution to McIntosh High School?
A: I have several contributions to McIntosh. I started as a quiet student who ate in classrooms and bathrooms, but: I became the president of the Animal Care Organization, where I managed outreach initiatives, raised resources and funds, and coordinated volunteers for local shelters. I dedicated over 300 hours to the Fayette Humane Society, where I worked directly with rescue animals, assisted in adoption events, and advocated for animal welfare. I pursued various pathways, including Latin, Marketing, and Healthcare. In Marketing, I managed the Sephora segment of our fashion show. I have joined the National English Honor Society, Quill and Scroll, the National Society of Leadership and Success, the National Society of High School Scholars, and Beta Club. I became a Manger for Track and Field, where I got to build relationships with coaches and athletes while supporting them. I further developed my communication skills in Yearbook and Journalism, where I got business ads to fund our program, assisted in social media content creation, did our marketing, planned parties, and grew with my graphic design. I won the award for Journalism and the Betsy Getreu Scholarship at Honors Night, and I earned the LifeSouth cord for donating blood four times.
Q: How have you made the Trail a better program? What was your contribution?
A: I contributed to Trail and Legend by helping bring in business ads, organizing events, and supporting marketing efforts. I built connections with local businesses to secure funding for both programs and stepped up to plan staff activities. I also assisted with social media content, and overall tried to keep things positive.
Q: What college do you plan on attending, and what will your major studies be?
A: I will be attending Georgia Southern University with the Honors College. I will be a Global Honors Scholar student studying abroad for certain points of the year. I am majoring in Pre-Med Biology to eventually get my MD and become a Radiologist (not a technician).
Q: What is your favorite memory from your years on the Trail staff?
A: My favorite memory would probably just be any of our parties. We turn the lights off, and either play 2000s music or Just Dance, while eating the most fabulous Buffalo Chicken Dip.
Q: What are you proudest of, in your time with the Trail?
A: I am probably most proud of how my graphic design has improved and my overall communication skills! I am now able to proudly present things in front of groups of people, and just talk. This is not something I cannot imagine even being able to do before.
Q: What words of wisdom do you have for the upcoming editors and staff?
A: Puh lease get your stuff done and stay ahead.
