On Sat., March 29, McIntosh’s prom took place at The Foundry at Puritan Mill from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. and the theme was Parisian Nights.
“Prom to me is about having fun with my friends and an excuse to dress up for cute pictures,” senior Sydney Sena said.
For many people prom was something that they are excited about. It is also seen as a monumental moment for adolescents, so getting to experience it’s important to many students.
“Prom means a lot to me because I get to dress up and be pretty with all of my friends. For my dress I chose what looked best on me while having an open mind with looking for the right dress,” senior Mallory Mckee said.
There can be a downside when it comes to preparation as the whole process can be stressful, especially when organizing a big group and planning out the specifics of the night. Students spend at least a month planning, with making dinner reservations, picking out the perfect outfit and accessories.
“I’m not that all excited about prom because of all the preparation. I just feel like I haven’t had a moment to breathe without someone constantly making sure I have everything I need,” junior Mark Smith said.
Many students said the night was a big success because of the outfits and transportation.
“I thought prom was fun because I got to see a bunch of my friends all dressed up in gorgeous dresses and I really enjoyed getting to ride in the party bus,” McKee said.
But others believed that some things could have been better to make their nights more special.
“Prom was pretty boring because the music was bad and it ruined the mood,” Jaucian said.
