Cheerleading tryouts for next school year were held last week (April 10-14) and continue this week (April 17-21) . The first week of tryouts were held for football and basketball cheerleading.

Sophomore Magan Briscoe said, “I used to do cheer in middle school and didn’t think I would be good enough for the high school team. I really enjoyed cheering for my school and hope I can do so again for the McIntosh Chiefs.”

Competition cheer tryouts are being held this week. Sophomore Lauren Schimandle, who has cheered at McIntosh the past two years, said, “It’s really great to get back in the groove of the cheer season, especially after winning state last year. We have some really good rising underclassmen who will add a lot to the team. I feel like it will be a really good season for McIntosh cheer this year as we’re picking up not too far from where we left off last November.”

The teams will be announced today, Friday, April 21.
