Media center continues updates

The quote that they are painting on the library wall says, “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.”

Since last summer, the school has been making updates to the media center. They added new computers and a glass classroom and changed the layout completely. Most recently, they have been painting the wall by the fiction section. The wall has been repainted a dark gray, leaving room for a quote that says, “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.”

Ms. Emily Hodge, media specialist, said, “I love to see the reactions of students and teachers when they come into the media center and see something new. That is why I like to update the library on a regular basis. In fact, it may never be completely finished. I’m always looking for ways to improve the tangible and intangible elements of the media center. Whether it is putting up a new book display or adding a new activity to the Makerspace, my job is to keep students and teachers excited about coming to the media center – and more importantly, excited about engaging in the ideas that the media center resources foster.”
