Ms. Walls sophomore gifted English class started reading Dante’s “Inferno” on Friday, April 15. The students learned why Dante wrote “The Inferno” and guessed what they thought it would be about. The students took a quiz that had over 50 questions to find out which circle of the Inferno they would be in. The quiz had circles all the way up to nine. Circle one is located in “upper hell,” also known as lingo, which consists of the most innocent of crimes, to circle nine located in what Dante refers to as “lower hell.”

Sophomore Jeanna Speck said, “I think taking the quiz was a fun way to get us students involved in the novel. When I took the quiz, it said I would most likely be placed in Limbo or the “earthly paradise” of hell. This helped me when reading because I would position myself in the shades position to better understand the novel.” She said that overall she believes the “Inferno” quiz was a good way to get students excited and involved in the novel.
