Spanish 4 students read “El Forestero Gentil”
Jan 25, 2016
Spanish students in Mr. Lector Zamore’s class have spent the last week reading and analyzing the story “El Forastero Gentil,” a story in which an American cowboy wanders into a poor, dusty town in Mexico and is nursed back to health by the community. The work shows traditional Mexican culture and allows the students to practice Spanish by both reading the story and participating in activities involving the story.
Senior Jimmy Dwyer said, “I liked this story a lot; we have done lots of activities relating to the story, like crosswords to memorize vocabulary related to the story and verb conjugations in sentences that relate to the story. I think that reading stories in this class really helps [the students] learn Spanish.”
