This year is the first year McIntosh has ever had two Star Teachers at the same time.  Coach Jackson Whitt Jones was awarded the honor by this year’s Star Student at Starr’s Mill High School, Emma Wernecke.

Every year, the senior with the highest SAT scores is awarded Star Student, and that student is asked to select the teacher that had the largest impact on his or her life in high school.

Emma had Coach Jones as a teacher in her freshman and sophomore years, first for a humanities course, and then for an AP World History ourse.

This is the second time Coach Jones has received the Star Teacher award; he was also selected five years ago.
