New counselor welcomes students

Carme Ferreira

The start of the school year brings new faces and new opportunities, one of these new faces belongs to Dr. Lacey Ricks, the new guidance counselor.

Dr. Ricks grew up in Madison, Georgia, and has  moved to numerous places. She studied at Georgia Southern and continued her education at The University of Auburn.

When Dr. Ricks saw the job opportunity, she decided to apply for the position and to bring her family to Peachtree City.

Dr. Ricks said she wanted to become a counselor because she “believe[s] in education and what it can do in children’s lives.” She also said that she saw this as an “opportunity to help students prepare for the future.”

Dr. Ricks admires McIntosh and the students’ attitudes towards education. She enjoys coming to work every day and seeing all the friendly faces.

Dr. Ricks would like students to know that she has an “open door policy” and is “extremely eager to meet everyone” so please stop by.
