Governor’s Honors Program finalists announced
The finalists for the Governor’s Honors Program were announced on Friday, March 28 at 2:00 p.m. This four-week program is an academic program created in 1963 that gives gifted intellectuals the opportunity to expand their learning in their academic field. The website states that only one percent of high school sophomores and juniors make it to the program after nomination rounds, and McIntosh High is proud to bring 11 of its students as finalists and one as an alternate.
Cara Cook, Shelby Bock, Meagan Johnson, Amelia Traylor, Jeremy DiPattista, Nathan Hung, Alex Tchaykov, Laura Wu, Stephen Black, Tarna Zander-Velloso and Erika Gauvin are the finalists, and Kaitlin Burke is the alternate from McIntosh. Areas of study include Design, Mathematics, Social Studies, Spanish and Visual Arts.
The summer program starts on June 22 and ends on July 19.
