Why teachers choose to teach: Mr. Mason
Mr. Greg Mason is the head of the math department. He teaches seniors, juniors and freshman. Originally he wanted to be a state officer in Texas. He went to college and got a degree in math and went to apply to the state officer academy but there was a two year period where the state wouldn’t hire any new state officers. Mr. Mason said, “I didn’t have a job, but I had a math degree, so I went and taught for two years.” Then he renewed his application and went to the academy. Mr. Mason said, “I found that I had fallen in love with teaching.” He continued,”In the begin I wanted to drive fast cars and catch bad people, but I found that I wanted to teach and make a big difference.”
