Ms. Kelly McMahon is a charismatic gifted biology and chemistry teacher who is new to McIntosh this year. Last year she taught at Bennett’s Mill Middle School as a biology and gifted biology teacher. Originally she worked in the business area but she said, “It really just didn’t feel right to me.” She remembers that the real turning point was 10 years ago when her friend asked her, “What would you do if you won the lottery and money wasn’t a problem?” Ms. McMahon said, “I answered with the first answer that came to mind. I told her I would be a teacher.” After that, she went back to school to take the classes necessary to become a teacher. She said, “I knew that math and science were definitely my favorite.” She said, “In the certificate classes I got 4.0’s for each one.” She was and is still excited to be teaching today.
