With 2013 rolling in, not only does Peachtree City welcome a new year, but also new businesses.PeachtreeCitydenizens have access to new restaurants, such as Marco’s Pizza, Azul Tequila Taqueria & Cantina Lounge, Due South Southern Cuisine, and My House Restaurant, along with retail stores, such as Fab’rik Boutique and Francesca’s Collections.

Marco’s Pizza is a new pizzeria located off Highway 74 near Waffle House and the Avenue. It promises authentic and original Italian pizza while also including subs and wings in their menu.

Next, we have Azul Tequila Taqueria & Cantina Lounge. It will be replacing El Reposo off of Highway 54. Despite its misleading name, Azul Tequila is not primarily a bar. It is renowned for its delicious and authentic seafood from the Pacific Coast Region. The dishes are made fresh from the kitchen and do not include lard, peanut oil, or animal fat.

The Due South Southern Cuisine, ironically, is located “due South” of the Avenue. This restaurant originates from downtown Atlantaand has migrated into PeachtreeCity. It emphasizes local and authentic food, with a menu loaded with contemporary southern cuisine. Mike Smith, restaurant owner, stated, “We are unique to PeachtreeCityand the south side for our menu, our ambience and our service. My House Restaurant, situated where Schlotzky’s and Cinnabon used to be, is another new Southern cuisine restaurant that, according to the website, serves “classic American comfort food.” All the ingredients for the My House dishes are home-grown in Fayette/Coweta County farms and are guaranteed to be fresh and healthy from the owners themselves. Peachtree City is gaining new retail stores to the Avenue. Fab’rik is located next to Talbots. Currently, Fab’rik is advertising their “White Collection,” which has printed dresses and tops. Another retail store, Francesca’s Collections, is in betweenChico’s and Ici Paris. Junior Lauren Phillips said, “I really look forward to visiting Francesca’s. I’ve been to a store in Cumberland Mall and really enjoyed it. Their clothes are cute, and I like the jewelry.”
