Ms. Helen K. Denton, a citizen of Jonesboro, served General Eisenhower during the second World War. She was a secretary, one of 15 who typed the plans for D-Day.
She visited J.C. Booth in the spring of 2012 and spoke to students about how she served our country. She also spoke of a book that she was going to have published retelling her story.
On December 8, Denton had a book signing at the Fayette County Public Library. The book, “World War II WAC,” gives her account of how she served, along with how she got there, and what happened afterward.
Ms. Denton said that her portion of the profits of the book will be donated to USO Georgia, INC. The book is on sale at DeedsPublishing or wac.deedspublishing.com for $20.
