Mr. Chuck Whitley

Mr. Chuck Whitley, a 26 year veteran high school science teacher, was born in Atlanta and attended Tucker High School in DeKalb County. Mr. Whitley is teaching earth systems at McIntosh. He comes to McIntosh from Whitewater High School. His wife and youngest son spend their days at Starr’s Mill; she is a special education teacher, and he is a senior. Their eldest son is a junior at Georgia Tech.

Mr. Whitley has been looking forward to working at MHS. He said, “I’m glad to be here. McIntosh has a good reputation… I think the kids are more academically challenged here; the test scores are higher.”

He also coaches McIntosh’s freshman football team. He played baseball for four years at Mercer University, where he received his undergraduate’s degree. He earned his graduate’s degree at Cambridge College.

In his free time, Mr. Whitley likes to travel, read books, garden, and work on his 1971 Triumph TR6.
