The McIntosh Chiefs started the 2025-2026 wrestling season strong on November 11, winning all first round matches. With pre-season practices starting months prior to the 2025 school year even beginning, their wrestlers have been working hard long before the season officially started, and the results speak for themselves. The tournament ended with seven top-five finishes and three individuals finishing first overall for McIntosh.
Mcintosh wrestlers get a taste of gold
John Maslowski, last year’s Region 3-5A champion at 144 pounds, continued his dominant run, moving up to the 157-pound weight class for this year’s invitational. This marks his second consecutive year placing first at the MHS Invitational, and he is now looking for a “three-peat” in his senior season next year.

Joseph Patrie, the previous year’s Region 3-5A champion at 175 pounds and a state qualifier, displayed absolute control over his opponents by winning four of his five matches by pin and one by tech fall. His finals match was against his own teammate, Amir Mamadsaidov, who also presented a masterclass performance in this year’s invitational. Patrie won the MHS finals (190 weight class) by pin in the third period.
Kasen Standish for the win. The 2024-2025 Region 3-5A champion at 126 pounds had a powerful comeback performance in this year’s invitational. After getting injured two years in a row and having to medically forfeit the last two invitationals, this has been a well-deserved win for Standish. Finishing eighth last year, and now not only winning first overall, but also winning it in style through pins and tech falls. Standish, speaking on the start of his successful season saying, “the feeling of winning goes away once you win too much.”
