My hot take on this week’s hashtags? Why is my Spotify Wrapped not giving? I already felt like there was a bit of a delay (even though there wasn’t; I’m just impatient), but not only did I see no change in my artists, the total amount of minutes that I listened to music was so underwhelming. The plus side is that there’s a star constellation for your top artists that showed when you started getting obsessed with them. Anything zodiac and star signed will automatically eat in my book, so overall I’ll give Spotify Wrapped 2023 a 5/10.
But something that will be a 11/10 is the Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce, came out today. Okay ladies, now let’s get in formation, like we all need to be lined up at the theater. It’s going to be an almost 3 hour movie, showing behind the scenes from the Renaissance tour that all of the BeyHive would want to see. I’m ready to see rehearsals with her and Blue Ivy because I know they were going full-out in them rehearsals and especially to see Blue’s growth from the first show to the last.
The Soul Train Awards happened this week, hosted by queen Keke Palmer, and the fashion and performances didn’t disappoint. My good sis SZA won four awards that night and there were performances from so many icons that night (i.e T-Pain, Coco Jones, Janelle Monae). Seeing the girlies thrive in the Grammy nomination and BET wins as well.
Also, it’s timeeeeeeee! We’re finally in the holly jolly season, even though people have been giving Christmas spirit since Nov. 1. I’m looking forward to all the secret santa’s and ‘burrr’ baskets that’ll be shared. It’s actually shocking that we’re in December already because it feels like just last week I was trick or treating, now we’re gonna be wrapping presents in 2.5 seconds.
Now follow this: My favorite creator of the week is @ourmoneyconversations. She is an influencer that provides tips and resources on college, career and finance especially for younger people. My favorite video of her’s is her “Essential Checklist before you start Uni’, which featured topics of financial literacy and things that would be helpful to incoming freshmen and overall students in general.
