Editor’s note: Spoilers of season three of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and “Happy Gilmore” and its sequel follow.

What did lots of people do this summer? Bedrot. Myself included, spending most of my time lying in my bed, watching new series and movies, including the third season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” which was released in July. A lot of people are talking about the series on the internet and social media sites such as YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.

For those who may not be aware, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is a coming-of-age television series, centering around Isabella (Belly) who experiences her first love and heartbreak with the Fisher brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah. Being “team Jeremiah” or “team Conrad” has been a big debate on apps like TikTok. However, after this season was released, many fans seem to be coming to one conclusion: no one likes Jeremiah.

“I didn’t like [that] Jeremiah and Belly are together and Conrad has to watch them be together. I also think it’s really sad that Conrad is still in love with her and she’s like rubbing her marriage with his brother in his face,” senior Sadie Cline said.

Junior, Darianna Petruzelli has a similar viewpoint to Cline.

“I don’t think anybody can be team Jeremiah after this season,” Petruzelli said.

Personally, I think Belly could be considered an antagonist in the show – a total “belly”flop. I found her toxic due to her indecisiveness about choosing between Conrad and Jeremiah throughout the series.

I was on my couch when I watched “Jurassic World Rebirth” in July, which I thought was a total money grab. The plot felt dry, boring and bland compared the original. The first few Jurassic World movies felt more nostalgic and made many, including myself, reminisce on the original “Jurassic Park,” released in 1993.

“Happy Gilmore 2” has also been talked about around the internet, and while I have not seen the sequel to “Happy Gilmore,” yet seeing the memes of it on social media have not failed at making me laugh. So, “Happy Gilmore 2” is definitely on my to-watch list. Many people were saying how funny the movie was.

I loved the first “Happy Gilmore.” I’ve always been fond of movies with Adam Sandler in it since he’s one of my favorite actors. The original is about a man named Happy who wanted to become a professional hockey player until he tried golfing, which he turned out to be good at. He ends up winning the Tour Championship. In the second movie, Happy’s daughter Vienna enrolls in a ballet academy, and in order to pay for his daughter’s school, he ends up coming out of retirement and starts to golf again.

While it isn’t summer anymore, I’m not going to let that stop the bedrot from continuing. Whenever I have the chance, I’ll stay in my bed and binge my favorite shows and movies.
