Since the holidays are coming up, here is a playlist with less known songs

The new playlist on the Trail’s Spotify including lesser known holiday music

Now in the month of December, the holiday season has begun.During the holidays, many people enjoy listening to music about the season. When people think of holiday music, they may think about famous songs such as, “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms, “Last Christmas” by Wham! and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey.

Other artists are coming out with more recent holiday music. Sabrina Carpenter released her first Christmas EP titled “Fruitcake” on Nov. 17. Jimmy Fallon and Meghan Trainor came out with a Christmas song titled “Wrap Me Up” in 2023. A lot of holiday songs are made by well known artists, but there are many holiday songs that come from underground or unknown artists.

Songs include “Papa Noel” by Brenda Lee, Christmas Makes Me Cry” by Kacey Musgraves and “Child Of Love” by Sara Groves.

Lily Johnson is a junior at McIntosh High School and is serving her third year on the Trail and is currently serving as the Opinion Editor. During Johnson’s free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors. She loves going on long golf cart rides, watching the sunset and spending time with friends and family. She enjoys listening to music, her favorite genres consisting of punk, rock, and metal. “I think spending time with family is very important so I try to spend as much time with them as I can.”
