Coming to theatres  March 17, on Saint Patrick’s Day (meaning you’ve got one week to watch the first to get ready for the second!), DC’s “Shazam! Fury of the Gods,” the long-awaited sequel to 2019’s “Shazam!” which scored a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, and earned $366 million dollars worldwide, coming in the top ten highest grossing DC films in the world.

“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” will take place after the events of the first movie. With Billy wondering what he really does as a superhero while fighting crime with his new family. But serious dangers lie ahead, the two daughters of Atlas have come to take the powers of the heroes for unknown reasons. Billy must become a true hero, save his family and stop the Atlas sisters.

The second film will be directed by David F. Sandberg, who also directed “Shazam!” and will be produced by Peter Safran, who previously worked on 2018’s “Aquaman.” The film will star Zachary Levi, Grace Fulton, Asher Angel, Rachel Zegler, Jack Dylan Grazer, Michelle Borth, Meagan Good, Djimon Hounsou and Ross Butler.

The story of 2019’s “Shazam!” features the character Billy Batson (played by Angel), a teenage orphan trying to find his lost mother, while being adopted later on. Batson gets bestowed great power from a strange wizard named Shazam (Hounsou) telling him that he is the one with pure heart and needs to stop the villainous Doctor Sivana (Mark Strong) who wanted revenge on the wizard. After that, Billy, along with his adopted siblings, now use the power of Shazam to stop any evil from rising.

So far critics are already praising this movie showing nothing but love for this movie saying that it’s ¨hilarious¨ and ¨epic.” Clearly this movie knows what it’s doing with the number of positive reviews it’s getting. I would greatly recommend watching this when it releases in cinemas soon.
