On Thursday, Dec. 5th, the McIntosh band and orchestra classes performed a combined holiday concert in the auditorium. The Intermediate Band, Advanced Band, and Wind Ensemble performed simultaneously with the Chamber, Symphony, and Concert Orchestra classes. They played seven festive pieces, including “White Christmas” by Irving Berlin, “A Christmas Festival” by Leroy Anderson, and “A Swingin’ Holiday” by Ralph Ford. The concert also included a performance from McIntosh’s jazz band. Students were encouraged to wear festive items such as Christmas sweaters and Santa hats over their formal wear. The band and orchestra were conducted by directors Barbara Baker, Michelle Amosu, and Rae Litowich. The concert also featured Dr. Lane as a guest conductor for the popular holiday piece “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson.
