McIntosh Art students place in Kiwanis District Art competition

Students junior Natalie Hung, junior Lauren Fraser, senior Sofia Metzler, freshmen Catherine Quarles and freshmen Vivian Scott all placed in the Kiwanis District Art competition and received cash prizes for their work.

Kiwanis International held the Kiwanis District Art Competition at The Bridge on Monday, Mar. 14 . The Kiwanis District Art Competition is an art and talent competition for students of Fayette County and a venue for them to showcase their talents. The winners received cash prizes and the two first place winners in the competition have the chance to compete at State, where they have the opportunity to win scholarship money.
Multiple MHS students won this year at the Kiwanis District Art Competition.
Upperclassmen winners included senior Sofia Metzler who came in first place with her Figure Drawing and received $310, junior Natalie Hung who came in 3rd place with her Portrait of A Child and received $110 and junior Lauren Fraser who came in 4th place with her Self-Portrait and received $100.
Underclassmen winners included freshmen Catherine Quarles who came in 1st place with her Bottle and Fruit still-life and received $130 and freshmen Vivian Scott who came in 2nd place with her graffiti portrait and received $100.
