Many McIntosh students were given the opportunity to attend the performance of “Romeo and Juliet” performed by the actors and actresses of the Shakespeare Tavern in the auditorium on Oct. 8 and Oct. 9.  The play was abridged to 59 minutes so that the students could view it in one class period.

Since only five actors performed, actors had to play multiple characters.  Therefore, they had to remember multiple lines and gestures.

When asked about viewing the play, freshman Katie Austensen said, “I think that the actors gave a great performance, and I was impressed by the fact that they did the whole show with only five people that switched characters.”

Freshman Kate Cullen said, “I didn’t know much about ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ but I thought the actors did a great job of making the play very sad, but at times funny.  It was a very good and thought provoking show.”
