Solo and Ensemble performances let band students express themselves

Doug Morris, Staff Writer

Playing in a large ensemble every day can become tiresome for some band students, so an event called Solo & Ensemble offers variety.

Solo & Ensemble gives students in band the opportunity to use their abilities the way they want. Band members are able to choose a piece of music that has been approved by the directors and perform it for judges for an evaluation.

This activity can help students become better musicians by learning their strengths and weaknesses on a smaller, more individual evaluation.

Soloists, duets, and even larger groups may participate. The band members will perform at Newnan High School on April 25. Performance times will be given out at a later date.
