Students compete in school-wide Poetry Out Loud competition

Sophomore Joie Zhou performs her poem “The Lamb” by Linda Gregg, a poem depicting those affected by war as lambs.

McIntosh students competed in a school-wide Poetry Out Loud competition on Dec. 9. The students competing were the individual winners in their English classes. All grades competed, reciting a variety of poems from www.poetryoutloud.org.

The overall winner of the school-level competition was freshman Caroline Cameron from Mrs. Bruschetti’s English class. She recited the poem “Caged Bird” by Maya Angelou.
