The Phantom of the Opera performs in Atlanta

Oct 30, 2014
Originally on Broadway in 1986, an updated version of the “Phantom of the Opera” came to The Fox theater in Atlanta from Oct. 22 to Nov. 2.
The show had a great musical score from Andrew Lloyd Webber, as well as remarkable sets and beautiful costumes. One change from the original, however, is that the giant chandelier falls directly over the audience when the Phantom rages instead of over the stage.
The Phantom is on stage more in this version than in the original where he was heard more from off stage. The crowd gave the cast a lengthy standing ovation, which they earned in Wednesday night’s performance.
