Lego movie suprises with amazing ratings

“LEGO Movie” poster.
The new “Lego Movie” has done more than just recreate the childhoods of many adults. It has become one of the largest grossing movies of the month.
According to Deadline Hollywood, in the first weekend alone, the hit movie made over $69 million dollars while the 2nd place movie, “The Monuments Men” made only $22 million.
Using the stop-motion animation, it took animators 10 days of work with over 3.8 million different Legos to make the film according to The Guardian. The film scored high reviews with critics as well. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film received a 96% rating and an 82 on Metacritic.
Senior Alex Plotkin said “I was really excited to see the Lego Movie because it brought me back to my childhood and the trailers looked really cool.”
People who missed the chance to see the movie in theaters will just have to wait until the movie comes out on DVD . . . or just recreate it using their own legos.
