The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus came to Phillips Arena on February 15. The circus included two acrobat shows, trained poodles, horses, tigers and elephants, multiple routines with  clowns and a few musical performances.

The trained animals were impressive, especially the tigers who were surprisingly obedient for wild animals. The classic Ringling Brothers elephant routine was very impressive, as well. The trainers have taught the large elephants to stand on small plat forms and rotate in unison. The poodles were not as impressive with tricks but were very cute with poodle puppies running between the adult poodles’ legs.

The acrobats were outstanding. The acrobats walked on the inside of and outside of the rings while they spun around in circles, making it appear as if the performers were defying physics. Tightrope walkers climbed on top of one another to form human pyramids 20 feet above the ground.
