Xbox One and PS4 compete for Christmas sales

Conner Halmi does not expect to get his Playstation this year.

Big companies like to sell their products around the holiday season and Black Friday to get the best assurance of massive sales. There is one group of products that are so highly demanded, it seems they are nearly impossible to find: The Xbox One and the Playstation 4.

These high-end and very competitive items are competing for wallets of parents all over the world. With the prices of both of the systems, it is not hard to see what the companies are going for. At retail price, the Playstation 4 goes for $399.99 before tax, and the Xbox One at retail price goes for $499.99 before tax.

Even people who are not “gamers” still have an interest in these next generation consoles. When I asked what system Conner Halmi wanted, he said “It seems unlikely, but if I were to get one of the two, I would ask for the Playstation 4.”

Both of the entertainment systems have been released, but the true test of what the consumer really wants will depend on the sales after Christmas day. Hopefully, if you were wanting one of these systems, it will show up under the Christmas tree.
