Miller sisters win McIntosh’s Fifth Annual Quest for Talent

The Fifth Annual McIntosh Quest for Talent, directed by Ms. Hannah Beth Potter, took place Saturday, November 9, at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

The 22 acts were judged by three professional judges.

Jisoo Moon opened the show, performing “Prelude in C” on the piano.

Hannah Romine gave a vocal performance of “A Little Respect.”

Halcyon, a band, performed “Badfish.”

Kyle Hamlin performed “Music of the Night.”

Shelby Bock played guitar and performed her original song, “Saved.”

Nancy Mullen, Sarah Stange and Tori Windmiller performed a pop-mashup routine with hula hoops.

Christina Smith performed “Jesus Take the Wheel.”

Marcella Ballejo played guitar and performed “Perfect.”

Brody Smith performed an original piece on the drum set.

Gabby Aku performed “My New Philosophy.”

Nothin’ But Treble, comprised of Claire Avery, Sekoixa Gonzalez, Kaylee Lloyd, Maria McCraine, Jenane McCulloch, Mikeila McQuestion, Sophie Miller, Amelia Traylor and Joie Zhou, performed an a capella mash up called “Just a Dream.”

Jimmy Somebody, a band, performed their original song, “Dead End.”

Christopher Greco performed “L.O.V.E.” while handing white roses out to female audience members.

Maurya Dickerson performed “Strength of the Wind” on electric violin.

Marguerite Murrell performed “I’m a Star.”

A.J. Reuter played the guitar and sang “Cowboys and Angels.”

Brisa Salinas and Michelle Gonzales performed “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” and sang half 0f the song in Spanish.

Jackie Gray accompanied herself on piano and played her original song “Here I Am.”

Alan Graham played guitar and sang “I Will Follow You Into the Dark.”

Jenane McCulloch sang “I Can’t Stand the Rain.”

Emily and Sophie Miller performed “Down to the River to Pray.”

Meghan Kearn performed her baton routine.

 

Singer/songwriter Shelby Bock won third place with her performance of her original song “Saved.”

Drummer Brody Smith won second place with his original piece on the drum set.

Sisters Emily and Sophie Miller won first place with their version of “Down to the River to Pray” which included six instruments: the guitar, the mandolin, the banjo, the tambourine, the cello and the ukelele.
