MHS replaces “Chicago” with “Bye Bye Birdie”

As you know, this year’s spring musical has gone through several changes, and the show hasn’t even started yet.

Though the show was planned to be the famous musical, “Chicago,” it has now been changed to “Bye Bye Birdie.”
The show has just recently finished casting and is now in production.

“Bye Bye Birdie” is a musical that takes place in the ’50s and is inspired by the phenomenon of popular singer Elvis Presley and his draft notice into the Army in 1957. The name of the rock star in the musical, “Conrad Birdie,” is a word play on the name of Conway Twitty, a well known country singer and rival of Elvis Presley.
