McIntosh held a scholarship competition at the school on Saturday, March 13. The winner of the competition got a $500 scholarship. There were nine people competing: four girls and five boys. The girls were seniors Jade Allen and SeKoixa Gonzalez and juniors Paige Groom and Caroline Cameron. The boys were seniors Christian Carr and Porter Enstrom and juniors Arik Li, Treymayne Williams and Vyom Shah. First place and the $500 scholarship went to Paige Groom.

Before the competition, Caroline Cameron said, “Although pageants are typically seen as feminine, this scholarship competition breaks that societal assumption by not only allowing males to compete but by also completely eliminating the word “pageant” and, therefore, the many connotations the word carries.”
