The AP Spanish exam includes two speaking sections, so students are often given assignments to improve their Spanish speaking skills to help them prepare for the exam. During the week of February 6, students were instructed to research a Spanish-speaking artist and give a presentation about his or her life and art. A few examples include Fernando Botero, Eva Peron, and Antonio Banderas.  Each student created a PowerPoint to enhance his or her three minute presentation. While the preparation for such presentations takes a lot of time, some of the students enjoy the different type of work.

Senior Kristen Ford said, “I like working and improving my public speaking skills, so these projects are always an exciting challenge for me. Also, these assignments help me learn more about the Spanish culture.”
