Basketball teams sweep Starr’s Mill

McIntosh filled its student section with black and cheered on the basketball teams.

All five basketball teams beat crosstown rival, Starr’s Mill in the first round of the Battle of the Bubble on Sept. 6.

The freshmen boys, junior varsity girls and junior varsity boys opened the day, and they all came out with wins.

The varsity girls beat the Lady Panthers 50-28. Junior Savannah Soles lead the team with 27 points, which included 8 3-pointers. The varsity boys followed up with a 80-66 win. A strong defensive and offensive third quarter where the Chiefs outscored the Panthers 28-8 helped the team close out the win.
