Kyle Bligen wins third title at GHSA Literary State Championships

Senior Kyle Bligen won the 2014 GHSA 5A Region Boys Extemporaneous Speaking State Championship on Saturday, March 15.

This is a competitive competition where people who participate in dramatic interpretation, extemporaneous speaking, solos, quartets and trios. These people go to compete once a year.

Kyle has recently won two other titles, the 2013 GHSA 5A Region Boys Extemporaneous Speaking Champion and the 2014 GHSA 5A Region Boys Extemporaneous Speaking Champion.

Bligen said that in order to win, he had to prepare a seven minute speech on a certain topic. Kyle said, “My topic was  ‘How can Banks improve Credit Card Security.'”

When asked what inspired him to sign up, Kyle said, “Ms. Faubel asked me if I wanted to join the team. Before this encounter, I was unaware that there even was something like this.”

Kyle said, “Being able to be on the same team as gifted and intelligent individuals is the best part of being on the team.”

Any student can join this competition if he or she has a talent with public speaking, writing essays, acting or singing.
