The soccer teams participated in the annual Battle For The Troops game against Starr’s Mill on March 30. Both schools collected money in buckets during the games for the fundraiser for those serving around us.

Sophomore Stephanie Yi said, “Battle for the Troops is an amazing game and cause that brings the two county rival teams together for the opportunity to thank those who have served for our country. McIntosh against Starr’s Mill is always an exciting game that brings quite a crowd out to not only support their team, but for this game to honor many people that do so much for our country.”

This year the girls won 3-0 with a hat trick by senior Taylor Malasek in the first half. The guys won 6-2, which is the most goals scored against Starr’s Mill this season.

Freshman Jonathan Bennett said, “We were very well prepared for this game, so to win by four points was amazing for us as a team. The cause for the games were amazing, and we were all happy to help support those who serve our country.”
