Last spring, the McIntosh Girls Soccer Team won its tenth state championship in program history. The team beat Columbus High School 4-0 after goals by 2016 graduate Caroline Laux and Senior Taylor Malasek.

A few weeks after the game, the team got together to design and order rings. The team finally received the rings at the pep rally on Oct. 7. Each player on the team, led by Coach Marcia Clark and Coach John Briglevich, received a state championship ring adorned with a black stone and each player’s name and number. After a long summer and start of the school year, the players were excited to finally receive the rings.

Senior Madi Boyles said, “I’ve been waiting my whole life to win this ring. I remember sitting in the stands and watching the team win the state championship when I was in elementary school and thinking I couldn’t wait to win one of my own. It’s a dream come true.”

The team will look to add to the trophy case this year when the season begins in Feb. 2017.
