The football team played the annual “Pink Out” game on Friday, Oct. 14, at Starr’s Mill’s stadium. Junior Maddie Sy designed the “Pink Out” t-shirts for Ms. Lauren Bozone’s advanced graphic design class. Ms. Bozone said, “I had my students create designs for the shirts, and then we sent them to [business teacher Allen] Beall. Beall chose his favorite design which happened to be Maddie Sy’s.”

Maddie said, “Most of the designs throughout the years have been very busy but dull. I thought it would be nice to have something simple yet bold, so I went with the block letters. Having the small graphic in the center really pulled the whole ‘Pink Out’ theme in. It took me about a day or two to finalize the design and get the letters to fit perfectly with the ribbon. I was actually inspired by last years design with the football breaking through the letters. The whole broken or shattered effect was great, so I used a font that had a little bit of texture to it and the basic ribbon design. The whole simplicity of the design worked really well together.”
