The students stood outside for nearly an hour awaiting the signal to go back in inside.

The first day of milestone testing was abruptly disrupted with an unexpected fire alarm on Monday, April 25. The students were escorted outside by teachers and administrators and were told that the fire drill was not planned.

According to administrator Mr. Daniel Lakly, the fire alarm was caused by a bad sensor in the duct work. He said, “There are sensors in all the duct work, and if a sensor goes bad or if the air vent is dirty, the fire alarm will go off.” Mr. Lakly said that the administration has since contacted the county to have them come out to replace the bad sensors. He said that the fire drill caused a delay in the Milestones; however, the administration adjusted the schedule to accommodate for the disruption.
