The students in Mr. Ward Abel’s first period debate class have begun second semester learning about the legal process with mock trials. In each of the three cases, a student will either act as an attorney, a witness, or a juror. This process allows students to experience different roles in both criminal and civil law.

Sophomore Katie Austensen said, “I really enjoy it personally because the process is academically challenging in a way that will actually benefit my future as a lawyer. It helps me with thinking on my feet, and it is one reason why I finally decided last year that I want to pursue a law career.”
