Mr. Kenneth Buswell’s tech theater class learned stage makeup in class the week of October 31. The class began on Monday with bruise makeup using “bruise wheels” to apply makeup to their arms and sometimes each others’ faces to convincingly recreate bruises. On Tuesday the class learned how to use skin wax to recreate flesh wounds ranging from minor scrapes to major cuts and gunshot wounds. On Wednesday the class learned how to use tissue paper to recreate flesh falling or peeling off as well as “zombie” effects.

The class concluded Friday with a practical quiz in which each student had to create a bruise or flesh wound. Junior Tynan Fortune said, “I really enjoyed makeup week though was a bit tired of having people looking at me every day by the end of the week.”
